Cosy Winter Wedding – Iscoyd Park, Gloucestershire

Lucy and Glynn’s stunning Winter wedding took place at Iscoyd Park a few days before Christmas last year. The bridal party woke up to a light frost and sunlight streaming in through the tall windows of the house. Before getting ready, Lucy received a package and letter from her husband-to-be, which proved an emotional read.
After getting ready surrounded by their friends (and lots of champagne), Lucy and Glynn travelled separately to nearby St Alkmunds Church where their guests awaited them. In the grand church interior, Lucy and Glynn had a lovely ceremony with Christmas carols, before heading back to Iscoyd Park with their guests for their reception.

After drinks in the cosy interior of Iscoyd Park (with some guests braving the frosty outdoors), Glynn and Lucy were announced into the dining room to the tune of ‘The Bare Necessities’ (a reference to Glynn’s nickname of ‘The Bear’). With one of Lucy’s brothers standing in to deliver the Father-of-the-Bride speech, guests were left crying and laughing as they heard of Lucy and Glynn’s story. Glynn, his best men, and Glynn’s father also delivered heartfelt speeches.
Surprise singing waiters then signalled an end to formal activities, and an evening of music, laughter, and dancing began.
I had an incredible time filming this wedding. The light on the day was more than we could ever have hoped for, and Lucy & Glynn’s down-to-earth, relaxed and fun approach to their wedding day meant that they were an absolute dream to capture. They packed so much into their day, and there were so many moments of pure unadulterated joy that made me take stock and feel unbelievably privileged to be capturing.

Why I’ve started shooting handheld more

Traditionally, there's one easy way to tell the difference between a photographer and a videographer: photographers are usually handheld, while videographers will often have their cameras on monopods or tripods. However, over the past 12 months, I’ve been ditching the...
